President's Report

It’s been an exciting few weeks for our chapter, with meaningful opportunities to connect at both the national and local levels — all centered around one goal: continuing to elevate and support our members.

PRSA National in Las Vegas

On April 23, we had the opportunity to sit down with PRSA National’s Board of Directors during their visit to Las Vegas – a meaningful moment for our chapter and a direct result of conversations that started at PRSA ICON last year.

Our board shared an update on the Las Vegas Valley Chapter, the momentum we’re building and the intentional work happening across our programs – from our 50th anniversary, APR Ready to Roll program and professional development to the growth of our events and member engagement. More importantly, it gave us the opportunity to advocate for our members, strengthen our connection to National and ensure our chapter is part of the broader conversation shaping the future of our profession. You can view the presentation we shared with the Board here.

In addition to meeting with our chapter leadership, the National Board also spent time with students and leaders at PRSSA at UNLV — creating space to connect with the next generation of communications professionals and reinforce the importance of staying engaged in PRSA early on.

This put Las Vegas on the map at a national level in a new way as a chapter actively contributing to the profession and creating meaningful opportunities for our members.

Awards & Recognition

As we think about the impact of our work on a broader stage, it’s important to recognize the talent within our own community. Congratulations to our very own Leslie T. Snadowsky, MS APR and Congregation Ner Tamid on winning a Silver Anvil award for “Best In-House Team - Associations/Nonprofit Organizations” at the 2026 PRSA Anvil Awards earlier this month. This is an incredible achievement and a reflection of the level of work coming out of our market.

Recognition at the national level starts locally. The Pinnacle Awards are an opportunity to showcase your work — from tactics and campaigns to individual excellence — and build momentum toward programs like the Silver Anvils.

We’re proud to celebrate that work and continue creating pathways for our members to grow, be recognized and represent Las Vegas on a larger stage.

Cheers,
Courtney Fogle, APR
