PRSALasVegas.com - The chapter’s calendar of events, board roster, job bank, and current PR news is available online. New information is posted daily. Luncheon Seminars - Networking/educational lunches are held once every three months, on the last Friday of the month, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at Cili's at Bali Hai (on Las Vegas Blvd. south of Mandalay Bay). Members who register before the Tuesday noon deadline get the most-reduced price.
Monthly Newsletters - Stay up-to-date with industry trends and chapter activities through the members-only Vegas PR News, a monthly e-newsletter published by the LVVC board.
Professional Development - We operate a professional development program that pools member resources on various topical teleseminars and webinars. Generally these seminars are a few hundred dollars per site and can be cost prohibitive for one person. However, four to six times a year the LVVC provides one location for a number of members to attend, greatly reducing the cost for each attendee.
Accreditation in Public Relations - Our accreditation chairs provide guidance for PR practitioners who study for and take the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) exam.
Job Bank - As a chapter member you have free access to the Job Bank. You may also post a public relations job opportunity on prsalasvegas.com at no charge.
Membership Mixers - Leave work behind to mix and mingle with other chapter members and enjoy drinks and appetizers. Mixers are held a few times each year at unique locations.
Recognizing Excellence - We hold the Pinnacle Awards, an annual awards banquet, each November. It’s similar to PRSA national’s Bronze and Silver Anvil awards, but it’s held in Las Vegas to recognize public relations excellence in Southern Nevada, Northern Arizona and Southern Utah. The Pinnacle Awards are open to everyone and members receive entry discounts.
Membership Directory - The chapter maintains a members-only LVVC membership directory online.
UNLV/PRSA Certificate in Public Relations - In cooperation with the UNLV Hank Greenspun School of Communication and the Continuing Education Professional Development Center, members may work toward a Certificate in Public Relations by taking five required courses and four elective courses.
